Fred Whiton is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Marlin Industries headquartered in Baltimore, where he leads the company with oversight of all operations across multiple sites throughout the United States. Fred has been in the Aerospace & Defense and Manufacturing sectors for 3 decades working at executive levels in operations, engineering and portfolio management. Fred has served on multiple non-profit Boards and currently serves on the Board of the First Maryland Disability Trust with active participation on the finance committee.

Fred holds a B.S, in Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland, a M.S in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Masters in Engineering Administration from George Washington University and an MBA from The University of Chicago. A Baltimore County resident, he enjoys the peace and tranquility of the outdoors and enjoys cruising the Caribbean with his wife Mary. He joined the GVC Advisory Board in 2025.
