Bayscape Tour & Workshop

May 30 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Create a beautiful yard, preserve local waterways, and protect the Chesapeake Bay.

Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC), a Baltimore County-based land trust and watershed restoration non-profit, is looking for people interested in learning about Bayscape gardens at a private residence. Bayscapes replace lawn with native plants that support wildlife, reduce landscape maintenance, and filter rain water from your yard, driveway, roof, or other hard surfaces.

This free workshop includes:

  • Brief presentation about the benefits of adding native plants to garden.
  • Tour of 3 different Bayscapes on the same block
  • Information on how you can work with GVC to promote clean water at your home, business, or place of worship

Location: Private Residence – 7310 Greenbank Road, Baltimore, MD 21220

What to expect: Dress for an outdoor workshop (hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes) and bring your own water bottle.

Questions? Contact Sydney (swest@gunpowdervc.org).

This workshop is part of the Clear Creeks Project. Coordinated by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC), the Clear Creeks Project is a grant-funded, citizen-based initiative that helps answer a community desire to restore the water quality within the Gunpowder Watershed. Additional funding provided by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation; Chesapeake Bay Trust; Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability; and Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays Trust Fund, administered by Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
