Day’s Cove Discharge Permit Hearing

Our rivers deserve progress, not weakened protections.
Day’s Cove Reclamation Landfill in White Marsh has applied to Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) to revise its discharge permit. If approved, the changes would allow more pollution to enter the river while also reducing monitoring, making it harder to know what’s happening in the water. Visit the Gunpowder Riverkeeper to learn more information; event photo taken by the Gunpowder Riverkeeper showing Day’s Cove landfill from the water near Mariner’s Point.
The more people and posters in the room, the stronger our message. That’s why we’re encouraging people to let us know if they are planning to attend the Day’s Cove Discharge Permit Hearing. Click here to fill out a brief registration form.
Day’s Cove Discharge Permit Hearing
đź“…Tuesday, September 16th at 5 pm (please note that the end time is only an estimate required by our calendar!!)
📍Perry Hall Library (9685 Honeygo Blvd, Perry Hall, 21128)
Why does this matter? Day’s Cove wants permission to:
- Eliminate a promised treatment system that would have cleaned water to drinking standards
- Weaken limits on ammonia pollution
- Double the amount of polluted discharge
Let’s stand together for clean water and healthy rivers.
