First Day Hike @ Cromwell Valley Park

Bundle up and start 2024 on the right foot! Celebrate the beauty of the Gunpowder Watershed in good company.

You’re invited to join Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) for a free First Day Hike at Cromwell Valley Park. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while chatting with several GVC leaders, including:

• GVC Board President, Cyrus Green
• GVC and Cromwell Valley Park Council Board Member, Carl Gold

We will be meeting at the Sherwood House section of Cromwell Valley Park and plan to take a 1 – 2 mile hike.  Please dress appropriately for the weather. Walking on rough terrain is likely. GVC encourages participants to consult CDC guidelines for determining when to isolate due to COVID exposure.

Note: The park office will be closed, but port-a-potties are on site, if necessary.

The hike is free, but donations are welcomed. All donations will help support GVC programming.

Directions: Sherwood Farm and Park Office, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Road, Parkville, MD 21234. Take the I-695 beltway, get off at Exit 29A. Turn left at the first light onto Cromwell Bridge Road, then go about 1 mile. Watch for the speed camera by the high school. We will be meeting at the Sherwood House, which is the FIRST ENTRANCE to the park coming from the highway.
