Rain Barrel Workshop

Save water, save money, and save our local waterways!
Rain barrels help reduce pollution to our local creeks and streams. The water collected in rain barrels can be used to irrigate lawns and gardens, wash cars, or simply infiltrate back into the ground during drier periods.
Join Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) for a workshop to learn more about rain barrel benefits as well as proper assembly and maintenance. This workshop is geared towards home owners, businesses, and/or faith-based organizations interested in conserving water while also reducing stormwater runoff from their property.
CLICK HERE TO REGISTER AND PURCHASE A RAIN BARREL NOTE: Please ensure you complete ALL pages of the form. Payment for your rain barrels occurs on the last page (after you confirm your information). Thank you!
REGISTER: NO RAIN BARREL PURCHASE (Just attend/learn)

GVC will be selling blue rain barrels (55 gallon capacity) in advance of the workshop. Please make sure to submit your order when registering for the workshop. Our rain barrels are repurposed, food-grade barrels donated by McCormick. Each blue barrel comes with a PVC elbow to attach to your downspout.
If you live within the Gunpowder Watershed, you are eligible for a 25% discount ($75) and free installation. If you live outside of the watershed, the cost is $100/barrel
Click here to see if the property where you plan to install your rain barrel is within the Gunpowder Watershed.
We are asking participants to pre-pay for their rain barrel(s). GVC staff will check the address provided to ensure that it matches the rain barrel order “in project area” ($75) or “out of project area” ($100).
Refund Policy: Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) volunteers spend time cleaning, assembling, and delivering rain barrels to meet the demand reflected in our online orders. To reduce the impact of no-shows, we have implemented the following refund policy.
- Full refund if you cancel your order by April 23rd (one week before workshop date)
- No refund if you are a no-show on the day of the event. Your deposit will be treated as a general donation to GVC.
