Stream Clean Up

May 30 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Help us prevent trash from entering the Chesapeake Bay!

Our local waterways, from a neighborhood stream to our drinking water reservoirs, are at risk from trash buildup. Anything that flows into storm drains goes directly into the closest waterway unfiltered. A Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) Stream Captain is seeking 10 volunteers for an organized stream clean-up to remove trash from Gunpowder Falls State Park.

Date: Saturday, May 30th from 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Location: Gunpowder Falls State Park (Harford Road Trailhead in Glen Arm, MD- near Notchcliff Road)

  • Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/S6pH11hwXKkNzSA68

Note: If you have 5 or more volunteers, please contact Sydney (swest@gunpowdervc.org) before registering to ensure enough spots remain!

What to wear/bring: Sturdy, close-toed shoes that can get wet are mandatory. Bring a pair of grabber tongs if you have them.  Bring sun protection and/or rain gear as appropriate. Bring your own water bottle and your own favorite snacks that you know will keep you energized!

If you have questions on the day of the event, please contact this site’s Stream Captain, Rich Dennison, at 443-668-3535.

Stream Cleanup Program sponsored by the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy in partnership with the Baltimore County Dept. of Environmental Protection and Sustainability.
