Sweep The Creek: Gunpowder Falls State Park (Hike and Litter Pickup)

Help us prevent trash from entering the Chesapeake Bay!
Our local waterways, from a neighborhood stream to our drinking water reservoirs, are at risk from trash buildup. Anything that flows into storm drains goes directly into the closest waterway unfiltered. Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) is seeking volunteers for an organized hike and stream clean-up to remove trash from Gunpowder Falls State Park.
Note: This hike will follow the trail from the parking lot to Pot Rocks. This trail is 1 mile in each direction, has uneven terrain and a small stream crossing, and we will be carrying out all of the trash that we find!
Date: Sunday, June 7th from 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Location: Gunpowder Falls State Park Central Area (Belair Road, Kingsville, MD –> Hiking to Pot Rocks!)

What to wear/bring: Sturdy, close-toed shoes that can get wet are mandatory. Bring a pair of grabber tongs if you have them. Bring sun protection and/or rain gear as appropriate. Bring your own water bottle and your own favorite snacks that you know will keep you energized!
