Tree Planting

Help us plant trees for cleaner air and water in Baltimore County!
Do you like being outside in nature and getting your hands in some soil? Join us and make a difference for future generations by planting trees!
More than 36,000 trees have been planted throughout the Gunpowder Watershed by enthusiastic volunteers over the past 34 years, and we need YOUR help to plant even more!
A maximum of 40 people, including GVC staff and volunteer leaders, will be allowed to participate in this event. We are allowing minors (ages 8 – 17) to attend our events as long as there is one parent/legal guardian per four children in attendance.
EVENT DETAILS
Date: Saturday, October 28, 2023 (10 am – 1 pm). Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in. This event is rain or shine.
Location: Private Residence in Sparks, MD (1552 Glencoe Road, Sparks, MD 21152). Due to the multiple areas that volunteers may be coming from, we recommend using your GPS to determine the best route to this planting site. There will be GVC signs to direct you from the road and someone to tell you where to park.
Please note that location is subject to change. Updates will be sent through email if any changes happen.
What to bring: Please wear boots, pants, long sleeve shirt, hat, gloves, and bring rain gear. Each volunteer will need to bring their own labeled water bottle. Water jugs for refill and packaged snack bars will be provided.

Note: GVC is committed to providing a safe and comfortable volunteer experience for all. Masks are currently optional. If you are experiencing any COVID or flu symptoms, please do not attend the volunteer event.
