Darcy Herman retired in 2025 after serving for 10+ years on the staff of Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, most recently as Program Director for Education & Restoration. She looks forward to continuing to promote healthy lands, healthy waterways, and healthy communities in the Gunpowder watershed as a member of GVC’s Advisory Council. Darcy connected with GVC at the beginning of the Clear Creeks Project in 2013, when she was living in Middle River and enjoying the beauty and history of that waterfront community. Her work at GVC allowed her to combine her background in ecology and science writing with community outreach and engagement, deepening her commitment to the watershed and its conservation.
