Categories: Advisory Council

Kathy Reiner Martin has been a lifelong advocate for the tidal Gunpowder.  Her sign-off in an email—“mad about mud”—became the name of a grassroots organization that contributed to a $2.1 million settlement to restore the tidal Gunpowder.  In addition to being an effective community organizer, Kathy brings a wealth of professional experience with her systems analysis, project management, database design, and team management skills.  She retired in June 2022 from University of Maryland and Director of IT Applications after 3 decades of experience in the dental business, clinical and academic environment. She received the 2002 University of Maryland, Board of Regents Staff Award for extraordinary public service. In addition to supporting Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, she currently donates her time and talent to NeighborSpace of Baltimore County, Baltimore County Commission on Environmental Quality, Maryland Water Monitoring Committee, Leadership Baltimore County, Camp Chapel United Methodist Church, Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake and other organizations.
