Sydney West
Sydney grew up in northern Baltimore County, where she developed a deep appreciation for forests and the unique ecosystems that thrive within them. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Land Resources and Environmental Science at Montana State University. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where she also spent much of her time rowing on the St. Mary’s River.
Most recently, she served as a 2024–2025 Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps member with the South, West, and Rhode Riverkeeper in Annapolis, MD, where she focused on water quality monitoring and restoration work. In her free time, Sydney enjoys baking sourdough, reading, hiking, spending time with her pets, and rowing with the nearest community team.
