Mindful Nature Walk

Unplug from the fast-paced world and reconnect with yourself.
Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) is excited to offer a mindful nature walk in partnership with the Center for Nature Informed Therapy. Led by Phillip McKnight, certified mindfulness meditation teacher, this session is designed to move you from a state of doing to a state of being. Participants will experience a slow-paced walk through nature, utilizing sensory grounding techniques and intentional nature-connection practices that reduce stress and deepen presence.
Event is limited to 20 participants. Make sure to reserve a spot for yourself (and a friend!)

We will meet at the Merryman Trail along Pot Spring Road. The navigation address is 10517 Pot Spring Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030. Parking available along the street. Meet at the trailhead where you will see a GVC event sign and our guide.
This is a beginner-level hike. It does involve walking down a hill and back up slowly and some uneven gravel. Wear sturdy sneakers or hiking boots and bring outdoor accessories (hat, sunscreen, bug spray) and your own water bottle.
Here be treasure! This special event is part of GVC’s Explore the Gunpowder Challenge, a FREE self-paced adventure between Earth Day, April 22 and June 3, 2026. You can start at any time! Click here for more details!
